Jaipur,11 August 2018 — Balance journalism refers to fair and factual reporting. Stories told from all angles without being bias, and it is the ethical imperative of a journalist to transmit the news in an impartial manner. At Talk Journalism 2018, Seema Chishti, senior journalist at Indian Express shed light upon ‘Balance Journalism.’
She added, When truth and lies are weighed on a public awareness scale we can observe that they are imbalanced. As a journalist one must analyze the truth and it is upon us on how we apply this in our work culture.
Speaking of Science of Journalism, Seema Chishti said, reporters ended up giving the air of legitimacy an oxygen of publicity. When we look at journalism the whole idea of balanced journalism needs to be pondered upon in today’s world. Journalists need to take a call and give emphasis on research and stand by the truth by filtering the facts from opinions.
