Volunteer Registration

Volunteer Registration 2022

Every year Talk Journalism talks about issues, trends, best practices, challenges and developments taking place globally in the field. The joy of being back on the ground, of finally being able to meet, train, and work with each and every one of you in a real environment, is tenfold! Without the dedication and support of our volunteers, none of this would have been possible. We’ll need an exceptional enormous number of volunteers to serve as the connection among us, the audience, and the journalists for the 2022 season! As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the event’s directors and producers, artists and educators, students and audiences.

DEPARTMENTS

Registration

You will be in charge of welcoming the audience, checking identity cards/documents, and registering our delegates, journalists and reporters individually. You’ll be the event’s “face,” greeting visitors and speakers as they arrive at the venue, so if you’re well aware of the modern technology, calm and composed, and can maintain a smiling face, this is the position for you!

Venue Management

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that your allocated location is prepared before each session and to assist your Venue Managers with crowd management and every other responsibility that may occur. As with most other jobs, you need to be able to respond accordingly, flexible, and polite. As a venue volunteer, one of your main responsibilities will be crowd management.

Travel and logistics

This is one of the most fascinating, but also one of the most difficult sectors to work in, since it necessitates precise time management and operational abilities. Our self-motivated volunteers are in charge of planning our authors’ travel itineraries, arranging for them to be picked up and dropped off at specific locations, and ensuring that their accommodations are ready when they arrive. Volunteers in this department must be quick on their feet, ready to solve any problems that arise, and respectful throughout.

Outreach

The Event’s Outreach Program attempts to broaden its impact by reaching out to educational institutions. To ensure that this goes successfully, the Volunteers will need to cooperate with the school, writers, and logistical team.

Content writing and Social Media

One of the easiest ways to engage the audience online is to produce interesting and original content. That’s where the content writers come in. This is an excellent chance for you to collaborate with our digital team while strengthening your photography and content writing abilities. Volunteers will be expected to work on the ground to record the Event’s atmosphere, behind-the-scenes activities, and major sessions in order to provide online content for the Event. You, as a volunteer should be able to take research and convert that knowledge into interesting and informative content for readers. Volunteers in this department must have communication, editing and time management skills. Those with experience or an interest in photography, marketing, advertising, or media content should apply.

Information Desk

Volunteers who volunteer at the Information Desk will be expected to know everything. You’ll need to know the venues and timetable perfectly well, as well as keep track of any modifications to the schedule. You will also be in charge of lost & found.

Speaker’s management

This department’s volunteers will greet the speakers and make sure they are prepared and are on time for their session. You’ll be positioned in the speaker’s lounge, where you’ll provide warmth and hospitality while making sure they’re comfortable and calm.

General Operations

This department will be responsible for coordinating and integrating all other operations within an event and its associated venues.
